John understands the demands that come with being the leader of a large company. John built a small Financial Planning Group into a large nation-wide company with over 80 offices, and established a successful funds management company with more than $3 billion in managed funds. At this time he experienced many frustrations including severe headaches, relationship struggles and financial pressures.

John had an extraordinary life defining moment 15 years ago. At the time, John was working 80 hour weeks, busily chasing success and living a life that was totally out of balance. During an impacting seminar, John realised that he needed to get his priorities right if he was to go beyond success and achieve significance. Within one hour of attending the seminar he had written down 13 things that he needed to change to get his life back into order. 10 years later, John had achieved success and was on his way to significance.

John’s vision, drive and determination have seen him lead and grow a humble financial planning business and build a funds management company in Tasmania into a very successful, national company with over $3 billion in funds under management and 80 offices nationwide. John’s ability to lead teams and synergise contributed to him becoming a highly respected and approachable business leader in the industry.

John is dedicated to philanthropy and helping business leaders catalyse their journey from success to significance. In between commitments to various philanthropic ventures nationally and internationally, John mentors business leaders, sharing his experience and helping them to discover their life purpose, enabling them to live their lives more effectively.

John is involved in various property developments and also sits on the board of a listed company and is on the Board and actively involved with “Empart” (formerly Compassion for India). John is an active speaker at corporate and philanthropic conferences and seminars.

John lives in Victoria’s Yarra Valley with his wife Sue. They have four married children.
